Using DR and DA Plans

The Basics
Now that your employer has selected a Dental Direct Reimbursement or Assignment dental benefit, you will need to know how to use it. Since Dental Direct Reimbursement and Assignment are not dental insurance, they may seem a little foreign at first but rest assured, by design DR and DA plans are easy to use and understand.

The key elements of both Dental Direct Reimbursement and Assignment are:

1.       Freedom of Choice – With DR and DA you are able to visit any dentist of your choice.
2.       Dollar Based Reimbursement -- Instead of a traditional procedure based model (100-80-50), reimbursement through DR and DA plans is based on dollars. So whatever the plan designed by your employer, you will be reimbursed based on total dollars spent, not on what type of procedure was performed.
3.       No Procedure Exclusions – Except as dictated by law for those that are done for completely cosmetic reasons.

Below you can see a step-by-step guide on how to utilize your DR or DA benefit.
