A: Yes, much like insured dental plans, if you place a DR or DA plan with a client, you are able to receive a commission. So long as you are appointed to receive a commission from your client and you provide service for the client, the TPA will provide you with a commission. The amount of the commission is usually competitive with or exceeds the commission paid by commercial dental insurance carriers, but as the agent you are invited to discuss the amount of commission for each case with the TPA.
A: All you will need to do is submit a completed Cost Estimate form for your client. You can either fill out the Cost Estimate Form online or you can submit a hard copy form to Benefits Administration, Inc. (BAI). BAI will then produce a formal proposal booklet for you that will include actuarially generated cost estimates and a variety of plan designs for you to review with your client.
